Jane Young

Biography

Jane Young was born, raised and educated in New Hampshire, where she has been practicing law for more than 35 years. Jane began her career as an assistant county attorney in Hillsborough County. She then spent the next nearly three decades at the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office where she rose through the ranks serving in positions to include the Chief of the Drug Prosecution Unit, the Chief of the Criminal Justice Bureau, and the Director of the Division of Public Protection. In 2018, Jane was nominated by the Governor and confirmed to serve as the Deputy Attorney General; a position she held for four years. During her time at the Attorney General’s Office, she tried complex narcotics and multi-week homicide cases. She also authored more than two dozen briefs submitted to the New Hampshire Supreme Court and argued many of those cases before the Court. Jane also led numerous high-profile investigations earning her the reputation as a hard-working, no-nonsense, strategic yet compassionate leader.

In 2022 Jane was nominated by the President and confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as the United States Attorney for New Hampshire. In this role she oversaw all aspects of the criminal prosecutions and civil suits in federal court.

Jane’s career as a prosecutor has brought her to every superior court in New Hampshire. Additionally, being a credible and highly visible spokesperson with experience engaging local, national and international media, Jane is one of the most recognized lawyers in New Hampshire. Jane’s passion and zealous advocacy for victims is evidenced in every case she handles.
